I’ll Guide You the Entire Time

You don’t need to know how to pose. I’ll walk you through everything with natural, simple prompts.

Expect a Mix of Posed + Candid

We’ll get classic portraits, playful moments, and snuggly in-between shots.

All the sweet stuff that really shows who your family is.

Movement makes magic

Walking, spinning, tickling, hugging - this keeps things natural and photogenic.

kids set the pace

Some children warm up immediately. Others need 10 minutes. Some need breaks.
All of that is completely normal.

We will go as long as they last but not to worry - if our session only lasts 20 minutes you will have many beautiful photos to choose from.

other helpful tips

1. Choose Your Outfits

  • Pick clothing that feels comfortable and true to your family.

  • Lay everything out the day before (including shoes and layers).

  • Pack backup outfits for little ones just in case.

2. Plan to Arrive a Few Minutes Early

This helps everyone ease into the session without rushing.
Even 5–10 minutes makes a big difference.

3. Prep the Kids

No need for speeches - just let them know:
“We’re going to hang out, play, and take some fun pictures.”
Keeping it light helps them feel excited instead of pressured.

4. Bring a Few Essentials

  • Water

  • Simple, non-messy snacks (puffs, crackers, gummies)

  • Wipes

  • A warm layer if it’s chilly

  • Their favorite toy - I can use this to encourage them to look at the camera

Avoid anything messy like chocolate or applesauce pouches.

5. Have One Secret “Bribe”

The key is something after the session:

  • Ice cream

  • Playground time

  • Hot chocolate

  • A new sticker

This gives kids something fun to look forward to without needing constant rewards mid-session.

6. If your children Get Shy or Overwhelmed, Hold Them Close

Connection photographs beautifully.
Cuddles, hand-holding, and piggyback rides instantly relax kids.
